Steilene Fyr is located on the south west tip of an islet that is one of a small group situated just off the eastern shore of the Oslo Fjord near the town of Alværn. Although the present light dates only from 1984, a station was first established on the site in 1837. The ancillary buildings visible in the photo are believed to predate the present light and may have also served it's predecessor. The large house in the photo is available for holiday lets, so it is probably safe to assume that the site is publicly accessible, although, as it is an island, it goes without saying that a boat would be required to gain access. In any case, like many of the lights around Oslo Fjord this is probably best viewed from the water.
The photographs below gives a wider view of the site.
